Hi, I am Adrian.
I am a Lecturer in the Philosophy of Social Science at the University of Oxford. I have submitted my Doctorate in Politics at the Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Oxford, fully funded by a DPIR Scholarship. I am member of The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, and I intend to take the Bar as I read for a GDL at the Birkbeck School of Law, University of London.
My research addresses questions of legitimacy, legality, coercion, and authority in a realist framework. I take seriously the epistemic dimensions of social life, be it in politics or the law. I currently work on a critique of the politisation of epistemology and explore the value of akrasia (sustaining belief in something that one has strong evidence against or knows to be false) for addressing issues of responsibility and blameworthiness in in the theory of tort and criminal law.
Besides my academic work, I am active in the protection of Palestinian rights. I have been involved with the United Nations, Division of Palestinian Rights, the Al-Haq Center for Applied International Law in Ramallah, Palestine, and the Balfour Peace Advocacy Project in London as an Associate Fellow.
My public writing has been published in The Point, Aeon, Psychology Today, Mondoweiss, Times Higher Education, and the Oxford Review of Books, among other outlets. My op-ed column at Psychology Today has so far attracted a readership of 20k readers.
